GSD students are driven to give back, to compete internationally, and to engage professionally, whether studying mega-block planning in China, designing for a community in Detroit, or participating in industry conferences around the world. While student ambition is unrivaled, their funds are not: this past year many opportunities for research, travel, and community service went unrealized due to lack of resources. Our current programs need reinforcement.
- Establish an endowed Pavilion Fund to support creativity, collaboration, and making through design competitions.
- Create an endowed Community Service Fellowship Fund, which will pair talented students with a nonprofit design consultancy, a nongovernmental organization, or an underfunded municipality.
- Provide a gift to the Professional Development Fund, which offers access to conferences and other professional activities within a chosen discipline.
